Huskies host Border Cats tonight

The Duluth Huskies will begin a two-game, home-and-home series against the Thunder Bay Border Cats at 7:30 p.m. today at historic Wade Stadium in West Duluth.

Duluth (16-6) holds a two-game lead over second-place Bismark, Mankato and Rochester — all 13-9 — in the 10-team Northwoods League North Division standings.

Last-place Thunder Bay is 5-17.

Duluth has won two straight, including a 9-8 home victory over Lacrosse on Wednesday night, and is 9-1 in its last 10 games.

Catcher Justin Mitchell (University of Oklahoma), who had three hits Wednesday, leads the Huskies with a .444 batting average in six games.

Infielder Augie Isasacson (Friends University) is batting .420 with 13 RBIs in 21 games.

Levi Shandrew (Eastern New Mexico University), Troy Newell (Western Kentucky) and Andrew Stout (Liberty University) have two pitching victories apiece.
