Duluth Denfeld high school varsity boys and girls cross country coach Michael Scrignoli on the 2018 Hunters:

“Our boys team is led by sophomore Isaac Fink and junior Jayden Erie, who were one and two for our team all of last year and in no particular order. Junior Jack McCormick was a solid and steady number three runner a year ago, and he is expected to be right in the same position this year. The next four positions are up for grabs on the varsity team with all underclassman vying to score points for the young Hunters. The girls team is very low on numbers but is led by six-year varsity runner senior Riley Pohl, who qualified for state as a freshman but has battled injuries the past two seasons. If she can stay injury free and get in good shape she will be a factor to challenge for a return to state. Junior Steph Ferguson is in her third season with the team and is our number two girls runner. Our first two weeks have been very encouraging with a solid group of runners pushing each other in practice. We’re a young group working hard and getting better.”
