On Thursday, maurices associates will be blanketing the Duluth community with a day of service for more than 20 local nonprofit groups.
“Our Best Day Ever has become a highly anticipated event for our associates as well as the groups we support,” said George Goldfarb, president and CEO of maurices. “Our annual tradition of giving back will continue as we pause our work to immerse ourselves in a day of giving and learning about the needs of our community. We will have some fun too as we celebrate our employees and preview this year’s holiday trends.”
This year, maurices’ community Grand Give will extend beyond the home office associates. The company recently partnered with AdoptAClassroom.org in an effort to ease the personal financial strain that teachers across the country experience. Over the course of the three-week national donation drive, maurices stores collectively raised over $100,000. maurices associates across the country will deliver the money raised to the local school in their area this week.
maurices’ philanthropic mission is to empower women and children to be their best. To that end, maurices and ascena associates will be helping many organizations in the community during the Grand Give including the Boys & Girls Club, Damiano Soup Kitchen, YWCA, Blue Star Mothers, Companies to Classroom, Second Harvest Food Bank, Bethany Crisis Center, Crisis Nursery, Community Action Duluth, Amber Wing, Essentia Health Breast Cancer Center, Safe Haven Shelter, St. Luke’s Pediatric Nursing Unit and Cancer Center, City of Duluth Parks, Polinsky Pediatric Rehabilitation, Program to Aid Victims of Sexual Assault, Life House, AdoptAClassroom.org, and Center for Changing Lives.
